This week we went to take a look at the progress of demolition works at 1115 Queen St. West. With demolition almost complete now, not only it is less difficult to imagine the beautiful spaces that are going to be created in the building, it is also fascinating to observe some of the original details of the building that have been uncovered. Take a look at some of them (click on image for a bigger photo):
- Brick walls and exposed ceilings – lower level
- More brick and woodwork – upper level
- Main performance space – columns and coffered panels
- Beautiful wooden doors opening onto Queen Street – upper level
- All stripped down to the brick – lower level
- Future Laboratory space – lower level
We are loving it how the building is slowly uncovering itself to us, inspiring some on the fly design decisions! Have a look at this brief video to see how it happens sometimes!
