Secret Life of a Mother – Free Childcare Performances

Parents and caregivers! We want you to see Secret Life of a Mother so much, we’re transforming the BMO Incubator into a delightful playroom for your kids!

We know that the cost of childcare can be a barrier to many parents who want to see theatre. Which is why we are pleased to offer free childcare during the performance of Secret Life of a Mother on November 3 (8:00PM) and November 4 (2:00PM).Your kids can enjoy songs and stories, games, colouring, and hands-on activities that will keep them engaged and having fun! Enjoy the show upstairs and know that your child is well taken care of by our experienced childminding staff and facilitators.

Drop-off will begin 1 hour prior to the start of the show. Pre-registration is required and must be booked through the box-office.

How much does it cost?
It’s free! But you must pre-register by contacting the box-office at 416-538-0988 or boxoffice@theatrecentre.org

What is the age range?
Ages 0-12 are welcome in the space.

(If you aren’t ready to leave your child but still want to see the show, the Relaxed Performance on November 6th at 8:00PM is ideal for parents with babes in arms.)

How many children in the space?
We have room for up to 18 children. We are currently capping the capacity of babies (in diapers) at four.

What’s the Caregiver:Child ratio?
1:6

Who are the Caregivers?
The caregivers are experienced babysitters and nannies and the program is co-ordinated by Theatre Centre staff, Alexis, who has and continues to work in Arts/Education programming, for over 10 years.

What will the kids do?
Children will enjoy the opportunity to engage in several activities, depending on their interests. We will have some arts and crafts options, books and a place to rest, some toys and soft balls and Mario Kart for those approx. 6 and up.

Is there food?
Food will not be provided by The Theatre Centre. Please bring snacks if you feel your child would like to have something during their time in the space. All snacks must be peanut/nut free. Please also provide your child with a refillable water bottle – we can refill as needed.

My child has special needs, can they come?
If a child has any special needs, details must be included with the child’s registration. Due to limited resources, The Theatre Centre cannot provide one-on-one supervision or specific medical support, but are willing to discuss accommodations with parents/guardians over the phone or in person.

If a child has an assistant at school or at home for special needs, The Theatre Centre recommends that qualified assistant attends the program with the child to support their needs.
