The Theatre Centre Café/Bar is a place for all communities to gather, work, drink, develop ideas, and share a meal. Open daily to the public, you can enjoy a wonderful selection of hot and cold drinks including coffee, espresso drinks + a variety of teas, locally brewed beer, wine and liquor. Our tasty baked goods are made fresh on-site by our Baker in Residence Nicole Bilyea, and our scrumptious salads and sandwiches are by Parts & Labour (see our weekly menu).
The Theatre Centre Café/Bar showcases our commitment to incubating new ideas and new ways of working through the exhibition of sculptural, video, and performance installations in this warm and inviting meeting place.
Join us soon for one of our monthly Community Meals or a Third Thursday Cinq à Sept!
Side Streets is a year-round series of hanging installations in The Theatre Centre Café/Bar, created by the talented and local artists of City of Craft. Next time you’re hanging out in the Café/Bar look up and check out our current installation.
CHIPMUNKS ON ICE is a series of chipmunk, pine cone, and oak nut plushies made by illustrator and book designer Ian Phillips. He is also co-founder of the Holiday Arts Mail-order School, which will soon be celebrating the Class of 1937 Graduation Ceremony and Yearbook Launch. His small press, pas de chance, recently celebrated thirty years of publishing. This year, along with Kalpna Patel, Ian has designed and illustrated City of Craft’s highly sought-after poster and swag bag. Chipmunks on Ice were jointly created for City of Craft and The Theatre Centre.

Cinq à Sept
Every Third Thursday, we open the Café/Bar up to the theatre community as a place to have a drink and spend time with our fellow theatre industry members. Whether you want to chat about the biz, get to know a new Artistic Director, or just come and play a game of ping pong, this is the spot for you.
Best of all, every month we’ll have a new theatre community “Celebrity Bartender” slinging drinks just for you!
JOIN US on Thursday January 21st 5pm – 7pm when our Cinq à Sept is turned over to Progress Festival. Celebrity Bartender to be announced!
Join us once a month for a mouth watering community meal! Our Director of Production & Facilities, Remington North, knows how to spin a thing or two backstage and in the kitchen, and our community meals give us a chance to share his passion for food experimentation and cooking with you!
The next Community Meal is
Tuesday, February 16th, at 1pm
Our Artistic Director Franco Boni will whip up some homemade lasagna (noodles and all!) with a veggie and meat option. $5 for a plate full of beautiful food.
