Community BBQ & Hangout!

FREE & Family-Friendly

RSVP Today! — Community Meals are a long-standing tradition in The Theatre Centre community. Let’s be honest, not much happens at The Theatre Centre without food. Our 2024 Community BBQ was a huge success: we planned for 300 guests and ended up feeding 800, and we’re all set to welcome even more people this summer.

This outdoor event will feature hot dogs and hamburgers (while supplies last), live music, and more! Details coming soon.

Made possible through the City of Toronto’s ‘Community Celebration Support Fund’ and in part by the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The Theatre Centre

The Theatre Centre is a nationally recognized live-arts incubator and community hub. Our mission is to offer a home for creative, cultural and social interactions to invent the future.

We make work that spans disciplines and genres; work that pushes the boundaries of what is considered “art”. Our programming and our role as a community space are inextricably linked. Art is not made in a silo: it is connected to the world around it!

DJ Nana has performed in many locations around North America, Europe, Asia, and South Africa. As a music producer and independent label owner, Nana has secured musical placements for various productions (Kim’s Convenience Season Four, The Coroner), earned a Juno Award for Best Rap Recording Album (Legends League Prsents: Naturally Born Strangers), created the classic South African Hip Hop Song “Let The BeatGo” featuring HHP, Tumi (Stogie T) and Zubz, was honoured with Ghana DJ’s Best international DJ in 2014; and is the only DJ to have made an appearance on any Idol based show – his feat on Canadian Idol during 2008.
