Deep End Week 2026: Living the dream – Company life!

Presented by Nova Dance

From August 17 to 23, Nova Dance takes over The Theatre Centre for a joyous week of dancing, experimentation, conversation, and unexpected collaboration.

Deep End Week brings together members of the Company to welcome new performers into the ensemble, explore choreographer Nova Bhattacharya’s creative practice through Nova Dance “Elementals,” and prepare dancers for the upcoming season. Artist in Residence Angie Cheng will create an installation of practice in the Incubator, while also working with the Company to explore how care and connection can be woven into the daily life of the rehearsal room. Whether wading in the shallow end or diving deep into technique, Deep End Week provides an open, supportive environment where dancers and creators can collaborate, learn, and grow together.

There will be dancing throughout the building, daily dance parties, and plenty of opportunities to witness artists creating together. Visitors are welcome to drop by, observe the artists at work, and experience the energy of the week. Deep End Week culminates in a free, informal public sharing where audience members are welcome to watch, or if they choose, join the artists in movement.

Deep End Week is supported by Metcalf Foundation’s Booster Fund, Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council.

And then we go about our lives. It’s a beautiful intimacy.” For actor, director, and writer Gregory Prest, even a...
