Hackett and Langdon
Untitled Full-length Comedy Show
What happens when we are freed from our silos? What happens when you are proven wrong about your experience being a solitary one? What happens when you finally see the virtually invisible threads of shared identity and culture through the uniquely bizarre medium of comedy?
This duo first met as new cast members of the long-running weekly sketch comedy troupe The Sketchersons, and for the past two decades, they have performed in various venues (often bars) across Toronto. While these venues are geared toward live comedy that requires minimal props, simple lighting and sound, occasional live music, and limited visual media, we’ve all come to the conclusion that it’s time for them to create a comedy show that is significantly bigger, more complex, and more dynamic than anything they’ve done before.
Brandon Hackett is a Canadian Screen Award-, Writers’ Guild of Canada Award-, and Dora-nominated comedian, actor and TV Writer based in Toronto. Some of the TV shows he’s written for include Shelved, This Hour Has 22 Minutes and Made For TV. His feature screenplay Toughen Up is currently optioned by award-winning production company Fae Pictures. He is an alumnus of the Second City mainstage and the Canadian Film Centre.
Jonathan Langdon: Jonathan has appeared in various TV and Film productions, including M. Night Shyamalan’s newest feature TRAP. Jonathan’s other credits include the feature films Disney’s movie trilogy ZOMBIES as Coach, and the lead role in Bounce TV’s Faith Heist and the sequel Christmas Heist. In addition to being the voice of everyone’s favorite purple dinosaur, Barney, in the newly rebooted Barney’s World, Jonathan’s animation credits include Open Season: Call of Nature, Vida The Vet, People Watching III, and Rubble & Crew, and Disney’s Zombies, to name a few. On the small screen, Jonathan’s credits include American Gods, But I’m Chris Jericho!, In Contempt, AMC’s N0S4A2, Robyn Hood, and the HIT CBC series, Run The Burbs.
