“71” is a new one-act play written and directed by Mashreka Mahmood. It is set in 1971 Bangladesh during the Liberation War. The play follows Naznin, a student at Dhaka University, as she works to find her place in the movement and her life. There is also a strange presence in her room whom she must contend with.

Content warnings: Graphic mentions of suicide, mentions of
sexual assault, military violence, acts of murder and genocide.
