Daren the Peasant Chef Release Party

Come listen to the first episode of Toronto’s newest cosy fantasy audio drama, DAREN THE PEASANT CHEF, and hear from the voice cast, including CSA nominees and Canadian Podcast Award winners, about their experience creating this piece of audio art. This event is part mixer, part talk-back and aims to give audio drama lovers and creators a space to share their love of the art form.
DAREN THE PEASANT CHEF is a seven-part audio drama about a young peasant boy named Daren trying to become the king’s chef. Each episode takes place in a new town as Daren travels as a member of the king’s staff. At its heart, it tells the story of growing up, leaving home, and finding your own identity when you are so used to falling back on the closed-minded opinions of those around you. Listen wherever you get your podcasts starting September 21st.
This project is produced by Cole Dille. By day, he is the production coordinator at Bravo Academy for the performing arts and was formerly the apprentice production manager for Crossroads Theatre Company. He is also the host of Hex Girlfriends: an Improvised Fantasy Podcast.
