Bleja/Lime

A fundraising event by Sunface Collective

It’s a Bleja/Lime and you are invited! This fundraising event by Sunface Collective takes inspiration from the Serbo-Croatian word “bleja” and the Trinbagonian word “lime” which both mean people spending time together in shared space and what you do, well that is up to you. It could be nothing, it could be everything.

Our Bleja/Lime is leaning to everything! There will be performances from warm pop/folk singer Catherine Crescent, drag queen Hot Honey Ham, and live sound artist Caleb Kalger. There will be collaging, henna tattoos, and more. There will be food and drink. The music will be bumping and the times shall be good. This is a fluid space where you choose your own adventure! Engage as you like! Let’s celebrate the beginning of April together and defrost a bit.

Entry is Pay-What-You-Can with a recommended donation of $20. No one shall be turned away for lack of funds :). Payment will be at the door either by cash or e-transfer. All proceeds go towards our upcoming production of Suzan-Lori Park’s 365 Days/365 Plays, running from April 23-25 at The Helen Gardiner Phelan Theatre.

Interested in our upcoming production? Love that. Here is some more information.
Sunface Collective is a new indie theatre group with our inaugural production being Suzan-Lori Park’s 365 Days/365 Plays. This production is in partnership with the Centre for Drama, Theatre & Performance Studies at the University of Toronto as the 2026 CDTPS Alumni Performance Project– a non-student opportunity. We are also supported by EJ3Arts – a new Toronto based theatre production company.

This ambitious play came from Suzan-Lori Parks deciding on Nov 13 2002 to write a self-contained play every day for a year which became 365 Days/365 Plays. Parks engages with themes of war, community, love, racism, hope, capitalism, camaraderie, and anxiety in the face of it all. This feels incredibly pertinent to our time and place as young people within a Canadian but ultimately diasporic, global context. After a year of dramaturgical work we have selected 30 plays to mount in our production.
