Deep End Week 2025 - Public Sharing
Produced by Nova Dance
Tandava – A first glimpse into a new collaboration between Nova Bhattacharya and playwright Suvendrini Lena. Rooted in the ancient verses of Karaikkal Ammaiyar and haunted by the legacy of the Tamil disappeared, this work-in-progress searches for an embodied language of remembrance.
The Lady Comes Home – A powerful solo performance by Dainty Smith, bringing burlesque, truth-telling, and deep vulnerability to the stage. A ritual of self-actualization and sensual reclamation.
Dancers – Rebecca Singh, Wai Liu, Meryem Aloui, Swadhi Ranganee, Neena Jayarajan, Shivani Joshi, Derek Souvannavong
Choreographer – Blessyl Buan
Photographer – Michael Mortley
Nova Dance’s Long-Term Relationship with The Theatre Centre
Since moving to The Theatre Centre 10 years ago, we’ve worked with various companies who return to The Theatre Centre year after year. Fun fact: Nova Dance is the first dance company LTR for The Theatre Centre and The Theatre Centre are excited to continue this LTR this year for Deep End Week!
LTR (Long Term Relationship) is a long-term partnership that invites non-venued companies to make The Theatre Centre their home for several years. We provide companies with the space to create and produce, and – vitally – the stability to make long-term strategic decisions.
As a nomadic company for 35 years, we know how hard it is to be constantly on the move. After finding a permanent home in 2014 we knew we wanted to open the space to as many artists as we could. We believe resources go further when you share them and LTR is one way we put that belief into action.
