Grant Office Hours

Presented by SummerWorks Performance Festival in partnership with The Theatre Centre

This unique event brings together grant/program officers and managers from all three levels of government, to unpack and discuss the specific ways in which independent theatre and performance-based artists can engage with each Council’s funding programs.

This SummerWorks Exchange activity happens in two parts:

Designed for emerging theatre and performance-based artists, the info session and sharing is a moment to learn more about the distinct programs on offer at each Council. Happening at Theatre Passe Muraille, all four (4) grant officers and managers will share information about the programs that are available at their respective Councils. Whether you are an independent theatre/performance artist who is somewhat new to the public funding system, or you are an artist seeking a refresh on your understanding of the programs, this 45-minute session is for you! This session and sharing is followed by an open 20-minute Q&A and conversation.

Later in the afternoon, all four (4) grants officers and managers will host office hours at The Theatre Centre. Over the course of two (2) hours, each officer/manager will meet one-to-one with 12 artists, for 10 minutes each. These office hours offer a different kind of engagement, and they are designed for independent theatre/performance artists who have a previous history with grant applications, and have more specific and direct questions about funding possibilities for their creative projects.

Registration for both activities will open on July 11th.
