The Music of Kevin Wong: A Fringe Fundraiser

Presented by WovenKing Music

Get ready for an awesome evening with the music of Kevin Wong, performed by Kevin and his friends. Dive into great tunes, and support Kevin Wong’s Fringe show, A MOMENT FOR FRAYED NERVES. In moments that seem hopeless and exhausting, what brings joy? What brings connection? What brings someone back to their humanity?

From Toronto Composer-Lyricist Kevin Wong (Drama 101, The Preposterous Predicament of Polly Peel, In Real Life) and Choreographer Alysa Pires (Macbeth, Standard Deviation, In Between), A MOMENT FOR FRAYED NERVES immerses the audience in a musical bath of song and movement. It is a series of emotionally-linked musical vignettes inspired by Ghibli cooking scenes, lo-fi study mixes, warm baths, and the quest for existential meaning.

A MOMENT FOR FRAYED NERVES was conceived from the desire to offer something genuinely specific, granular, delightful, introspective, and comforting. It is a love letter to the ways in which our modern human experience is at once heartening, confounding, counterintuitive, and everything to us. Your donation will help us engage our dream team, bringing this exciting, experimental new show to life.

Can’t make it, but still want to support? Consider donating to our GoFundMe, found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/a-moment-for-frayed-nerves-at-toronto-fringe

“Some of my all-time favourite moments have been when something hilariously awkward happens in public and I catch the eyes of a stranger and for a second we know exactly what each other is thinking. And then we go about our lives. It’s a beautiful intimacy.” For actor, director, and writer Gregory Prest, even a...
