The Night Shift
Call for proposal due Sunday, May 19, 2018 at 11:59pm
Announcing The Theatre Centre’s latest experiment; we want to turn over the building to a Night Shift of artists, creators, makers, and thinkers who work at night, or want to try creating during this “alternative time”. We’ll even provide the coffee.
We are looking for artists, creators, people and/or groups of all disciplines who are interested in reimagining a corner of The Theatre Centre to work, create, research or develop a project over one or several nights. We want you to tell us your idea and why it will thrive on The Night Shift.
Do you feel more creative at night?
Do you wish for several nights at a desk in a room of inspiration? (Imagine an empty theatre and that album.)
Does your collective only have time to develop new work after hours?
Do you have a fresh idea for how to use a corner of The Theatre Centre? A hallway, a cafe table, the green room?
Do you have an urgent idea you need time to create, right now?
Do you wish the cafe would never close and you could sit, and write, and drink coffee all night?
The Night Shift runs nightly from 10PM on Sunday, June 2 to 8AM on Saturday, June 8, 2019 with the potential for a showing/party the evening of Friday, June 7. We are looking for applications from artists and creators of all disciplines. You are not required to apply to use all available hours/days, but applications that use more time will be given priority. Please note, The Night Shift is not intended to be used as rehearsal space for a project currently in production.
Applications will be considered by a committee of staff & Board members from The Theatre Centre, as well as community members, on the following merits:

Program Runs: Sunday, June 2 at 10PM – Saturday, June 8 at 8AM, 2019
