The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival

The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival

Toronto’s favourite live comedy festival since 2005, the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival (TOsketchfest) brings two weeks of smart, silly, and seriously funny live comedy to the city every March. What began as a small grassroots celebration of sketch comedy has grown into one of Canada’s most respected comedy festivals, welcoming thousands of audience members each year and showcasing hundreds of artists from Toronto, across Canada, and around the world.

TOsketchfest presents a wide range of live comedy styles, including sketch, character comedy, musical comedy, drag, clown, and genre-bending performances that don’t always fit neatly into traditional boxes. From polished ensembles and established favourites to bold emerging voices, the festival offers audiences a chance to see comedy that is playful, inventive, and deeply theatrical, performed live and up close.

The festival’s work extends well beyond the stage. As a registered charity, TOsketchfest is committed to supporting comedy artists through professional development and community-building initiatives. Workshops, panels, and networking events provide opportunities for artists to learn new skills, share knowledge, and build lasting connections within the comedy community. This artist-first approach has helped TOsketchfest play a meaningful role in the development of countless performers, writers, and creators over the past two decades.

Whether you are comedy-curious or a lifelong fan, TOsketchfest offers an accessible and joyful entry point into live comedy, celebrating the art form, the artists who make it, and the audiences who love it.

“Some of my all-time favourite moments have been when something hilariously awkward happens in public and I catch the eyes of a stranger and for a second we know exactly what each other is thinking. And then we go about our lives. It’s a beautiful intimacy.” For actor, director, and writer Gregory Prest, even a...

“The difference between Versus and my other shows is that this one is a celebration of community while the other ones were me trying to punch people in the face to say, “wake up.” Rather, it’s me saying, “we’re all like this guy, it’s tough, so let’s keep walking forward together.” Residency Artist, Adam Lazarus,...
